Got big travels plans in February? Make sure to confirm your terminal because the King Khalid International Airport has announced major changes.

KKIA terminal changes project is a 10-day effort to ensure smooth travelling experience for everyone.

After announcing the return of direct Riyadh to Singapore flights, the airport is back in the headlines.

The terminal swaps were first revealed via the KKIA’s Instagram account and will affect all domestic and international flights, regardless of the carriers.

So, pause your online check-ins for a moment. Here is everything to know about the terminal transitions.

Located 35km north of Riyadh, King Khalid International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the Middle East and becoming busier each day. The airport boasts of five passenger terminals with eigh aero-bridges per terminal, and a mosque. Home to the tallest air traffic control towers in the world, King Khalid International also has two parallel runways spanning 4,260m each. There is also a Royal Terminal used by government officials, state guests, as well as guests of the Saudi royal family.

The international airport’s terminals will be swapping airlines and duties in the coming week. Terminals 1, 2, 4, and 5 are set to be affected.

The transition will begin from Monday, February 16 with Terminal 1 and end on Wednesday, February 25 at Terminal 5.

What to expect from the KKIA terminal changes 2026

Monday, February 16

All Flyadeal international flights that depart after midnight will be relocated to Terminal 1.

Tuesday, February 17

Saudia international flights departing after 3am will be relocated to Terminal 2.

Tuesday, February 24

If you are taking a domestic Saudia flight that is departing after midnight will be taking-off from Terminal 4. Flyadeal and Flynas domestic flights departing after 11pm will also be operated via Terminal 4.

Wednesday, February 25

Taking a foreign carrier to an international getaway after 5am? Get your ride to stop at Terminal 5 because that is where your flight will be taking-off from. Domestic flights by Flynas, Flyadeal, and Saudia departing after 7am will be moved to Terminal 3 on Wednesday, February 25.

If you are confused about the terminal transition, worry not because all flights operating during these 10 days will begin check-in four hours before you meant to depart. Make sure to be in constant communication with your operating carriers until you board your flight.

Once the project has been completed, all Flynas and Flyadeal international flights will depart from Terminal 1 while the Saudia and Riyadh Air international flights will be operated by Terminal 2. All foreign carriers running international flights will move to Terminal 5. All other flights operated by Saudia, flynas, and flyadeal will take over Terminal 3 and Terminal 4.

Following the announcement of 15% VAT refund to all travellers leaving Saudi in April, the Kingdom has now launched the refund initiative with multiple kiosks at three major airports of the kingdom including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. SFDA has also announced Saudi medication permit for travellers. Delta’s nonstop flights from U.S to Saudi have also been announced.
