What’s more, the performance is a part of the fourth edition of the Documentary Film Days opening programme and will be presented in collaboration with the Red Sea Film Foundation at Hayy Cinema.

Hayy Sounds is a year-round program hosted by Hayy Jameel, Jeddah’s creative hub. It brings together local and regional musicians, producers, and fans for live shows, workshops, meet-ups, and more. The open-air cineconcert has been developed by the French-Senegalese Oriki Collective (Yann Salètes, Mourad Baïtiche and Michel Teyssier) along with vocalist Woz Kaly.

Jeddah’s first Cineconcert: what to expect?
The performance will present original live scores, blending a unique hybrid of African and Arab music for the film ‘The Little Girl Who Sold The Sun’ (1990) by Djibril Diop Mambéty who was known for his poetic and humorous storytelling.
