The ancient Pyramid of Djoser was illuminated with a spectacular light installation to celebrate the premiere of House of the Dragon Season 2, an eight-episode HBO Original drama series exclusively available on OSN+ across the MENA region starting June 17, 2024.
This stunning event was brought to life by technical adviser Rupert Morse, known for his work on projects like Mission Impossible 6. The display featured a dramatic face-off between Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), intriguing audiences and marking the return of one of television’s most anticipated series.
To further build excitement for the new season, OSN+ hosted an exclusive regional screening of the first episode on June 12, 2024, at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel. During the event, an exact replica of the Iron Throne was unveiled. Adding to the evening’s events, Steve Toussaint, who plays Lord Corlys Velaryon in the series, made a special appearance. He joined host Faris Al Raqqad for a lively discussion, sharing insights about the upcoming season’s key developments and revealing the Pyramid installation, leaving guests eager for more.

Elie Habib, CEO of OSN+ & Anghami, expressed his excitement: “We were thrilled to bring House of the Dragon Season 2 to our audience with such a grand celebration. The light installation above the Pyramid of Djoser was a testament to our commitment to delivering unforgettable entertainment experiences. We look forward to continuing this journey with our subscribers.”
In parallel, OSN+ rolled out digital stunts across the Middle East as part of the global ‘Raise Your Banners’ campaign. This included dramatic digital transformations of landmarks such as Elephant Rock in AlUla and a digital takeover of KIPCO Tower in Kuwait City, each showcasing allegiance to the different houses vying for the Iron Throne.

House of the Dragon continues the epic saga that began with the Season 1 finale, diving deeper into the Dance of the Dragons. This civil war, pitting Daemon against Aemond, Erryk against Arryk, and Aegon against Aegon, sees the Seven Kingdoms torn apart by the question of rightful succession. Queen Alicent Hightower leads Team Green, while Queen Rhaenyra, determined to reclaim her birthright by Fire and Blood, heads Team Black.
Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon narrates the turbulent history of House Targaryen. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series promises a gripping narrative and breathtaking visuals, ensuring a thrilling experience for viewers.

In May, OSN+ announced an exclusive multi-year deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, securing the rights to all-new first-run Max Originals and Warner Bros. Pictures feature films. Viewers can also stream House of the Dragon Season 2 in stunning 4K UHD for the first time on the platform when the new season premieres, further enriching its content offerings.
