The inaugural Ramadan Nights at Hayy Jameel in 2024 brought a diverse selection of workshops, film screenings, eateries, and shopping opportunities celebrating the essence of community, culture, and well-being. Across 14 nights with more than 30 participants and collaborators, the program at Hayy Jameel catered to all ages and backgrounds.

Ramadan Nights: Hakawati Hayy is a three-week celebration of storytelling, puppetry, and shared traditions at Hayy Jameel, inspired by the timeless art of hakawati and folktales from the Hejaz. In collaboration with the Arab Puppet Theatre Foundation and local creatives, the programme brings together puppet shows, interactive workshops, talks, games, children’s activities, and late-night dining, creating a lively space for culture, creativity, and connection. With something new unfolding each week, it’s the perfect place to gather, explore, and experience the magic of Ramadan through stories, play, and togetherness.

Set to be a collaboration between the Aysh Academy and Art Jameel, the Baker’s Market will take over the second week of the festivities. The space will host some of the best bakeries in Jeddah under the same sky. Pro tip: wear your most stretchable pants.
