Hajj 2026

Every year, Muslims travel to Makkah, the holiest city in Islam, for the Hajj. All adult Muslims who are financially and physically able to make the journey and provide for their families while away from home must perform the Hajj, a required religious obligation, at least once in their lifetime.
Hajj is the sacred annual pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca and one of the Five Pillars of Islam, alongside faith, prayer, charity, and fasting. Taking place during the last month of the Islamic calendar, it brings millions of Muslims together each year to perform a series of deeply symbolic rituals that reflect unity, devotion, and submission to Allah. Rooted in the traditions of Prophet Abraham and later reformed by Prophet Muhammad, Hajj is both a physical and spiritual journey, offering pilgrims the chance to cleanse their souls, renew their intentions, and strengthen their connection to God.
Hajj 2026 eligibility for domestic pilgrims

Both Saudi nationals and foreigners with valid residency permits who want to perform the Hajj from within the Kingdom are eligible to apply.
Priority will be given to those who have not performed Hajj yet.
Candidates must meet approved health requirements and be at least 15 years old (Gregorian calendar). According to the Saudi Gazette, foreign nationals must have a valid residency permit; those whose residency was granted more than a year ago will be given preference.
To obtain the Hajj permit, applicants must personally register through the SADAD system by creating an account, filling out their details, confirming their eligibility, choosing a package, and paying the fees.
