Rukun is one of the younger additions to the art and design scene in Riyadh. Located at Nujoud Mall, near Intercontinental hotel, the gallery feels like a contemporary art and design studio rolled into one.
The creative space has everything from furniture, installations, mixed media artwork, sculptures and more. However, expect your finds at Rukun to be anything but ordinary. Each item has been carefully curated by its founder, Princess Noura Bint Saud. As she mentions during Saudi Design Week, she values the story behind every art or design piece they showcase:
“In every piece we design we like to look back at our history and see where things came from and how we can shift it to make it into something that fits our world today. Having an outsider perspective is a great way to look at my history with a more critical and uninvolved eye as things are seen more clearly.”
Currently, Rukun is home to international interior designer brands from all over the world as well as artists both emerging and established. The gallery plays out as an interior haven for those seeking unique conversation pieces for their homes, but will also satisfy serious collectors seeking their next extraordinary purchase.
