The Formula E action is coming back to town, and it’s bringing double the excitement. After a successful debut at the Corniche Circuit earlier this year, the city will be hosting yet another thrilling night race on the streets of Jeddah. This will be the second-ever Formula E double-header under the lights of the city, and fans are already counting down the days.
What to Expect from Formula E 2026
For those new to the scene, Formula E is the world’s first all-electric FIA World Championship. It brings high-speed, battery-powered race cars to city streets in a series designed to combine motorsport with sustainability.
This time, Jeddah’s race falls fourth in the calendar for Formula E’s twelfth season, right after stops in São Paulo, Mexico City, and Miami. The series kicks off on December 6, 2025, and will span a record 18 races across 12 cities, making it the biggest season yet.
Same Circuit, New Layout
Jeddah’s Corniche Circuit , a fan-favorite in Formula 1, is getting a tweak for Formula E. The track is being shortened and modified for more technical action, with tight turns, long straights, and some sharp chicanes. This setup is built to challenge drivers and entertain fans.
The race format will again include two full days of action under the lights, a unique setup that makes Jeddah stand out on the global Formula E calendar.
A Shift from Diriyah
Before Jeddah, the Kingdom’s electric racing spotlight was on Diriyah. The city hosted Formula E races from 2018 until last season. Now, the energy has moved to the coast, where Jeddah’s skyline, beachside backdrop, and super fast track are adding something fresh to the championship.
This shift also presents a new chapter for Formula E in Saudi Arabia, with more focus on fan experiences, better visibility, and a more dynamic venue.

Expect dramatic overtakes, strategy-packed pit stops, and plenty of off-track excitement too. New this season is “PIT BOOST,” a feature that gives drivers an extra power kick mid-race, just enough to shake things up when you least expect it.
Of course, it’s not a motorsport event without these, but, fans can also look forward to entertainment zones, food stalls, and interactive experiences around the circuit.
