Opened by the emir Prince Saud bin Nayef, the 15km Safwa–Rahima Road now links Safwa (Qatif) with Ras Tanura.
Not only that, but the new road has a fresh new sea bridge.
The Eastern Province twin sea bridge stretches out to 3.2 kilometers and is one of the longest in the Kingdom.

The upgraded Dhahran–Buqayq–Abu Hadriyah intersections now come with five new bridges, better lighting, and improved drainage, while the enhanced road network connects Safwa and Ras Tanura to major highways like Dammam–Jubail. Add in new ramps and service roads for easier access from Buqayq, Bahrain, King Abdulaziz Port, and Aramco’s Ajyal community, and you’ve got a serious boost in connectivity, mobility, and logistics power for the region’s buzzing energy hub.
