According to Arab News, details about the luxe train’s first voyage were revealed during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) along with some stunning mockups.

Get ready to travel in style with Dream of the Desert, the new luxury train by Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Italy’s Arsenale. Designed to merge elegance with Saudi heritage, the train’s interiors draw inspiration from the desert’s beauty and traditional architecture. Its first journey is set for late 2026, taking passengers from Riyadh through scenic stops like Hail before reaching Al-Qurayyat.
The project brings together a powerhouse lineup of partners, including the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the Transport General Authority, the Ministry of Culture, and the Saudi Tourism Authority, all working hand in hand to bring this luxurious vision to life.

The first Dream of the Desert trips will take travelers on a one- to two-night adventure from Riyadh, covering around 1,300 kilometers of stunning scenery along the existing railway routes.

The stunning new Dream of the Desert train will host 31 private suites and two lavish presidential suites, accommodating just 66 guests in total. It’s where Saudi warmth meets Italian elegance, with interiors inspired by the beauty of the desert, think earthy tones, intricate woodwork, and glowing Murano glass lights that make every carriage feel like a moving masterpiece.
And the experience isn’t just visual, it’s delicious, too. Guests can dine in two elegant restaurant cars serving everything from refined Saudi dishes to global favorites with a hint of Italian flair, all crafted to Michelin-worthy perfection.
