Diriyah, the birthplace of Saudi Arabia’s first dynasty, is a historic gem on the outskirts of Riyadh. Once the capital of the Emirate of Diriyah (1727–1818) and home to the Saudi royal family, this town is now a vibrant governorate that includes charming villages like Uyayna and Al-Ammariyyah.
