It is once again time to engage with new media arts because Diriyah Arts Futures (DAF) is back with a brand-new show.
DAF Of the Earth exhibition is the fourth art show to be held at MENA’s first-ever new media arts centre.
The historic Riyadh arts centre will explore how technology reshapes our relationship with the natural world in today’s digital age.
The January event is one of the first art exhibits to be held in 2026 and will run for four months, giving you ample time to explore the curation of Irini Papadimitriou, Director of Exhibitions at Diriyah Art Futures. (Spoiler alert: Over 30 artists are going to be featured).

Of the Earth: Earthly Technologies to Computational Biologies brings together bold, thought-provoking artworks that explore the growing overlap between machines, living organisms, and the natural world. Curated across four themed sections, the exhibition asks big questions about how technology is reshaping our connection to nature, from its role as a tool of control to its very real environmental footprint. It’s a timely, eye-opening look at what happens when the digital and natural worlds collide on a planet with limited resources.

The art show will take over the Diriyah Arts Futures centre in the eponymous Diriyah.

Inaugurating from Wednesday, January 14, the event will run until Saturday, May 16. The 123-day event will comment on how technology has been used to control nature, the environmental impact of digital systems, and technology’s dependence on natural resources such as minerals, energy, servers, and undersea cables.
