Historic Jeddah, also known as Al-Balad, has always held a special place in Saudi Arabia’s cultural story. Now, that story is getting a new chapter. CORE Life, the country’s leading wellness and hospitality group, has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Culture to operate three boutique hotels in this UNESCO-listed district, marking a major step in preserving heritage while redefining modern Saudi hospitality.
A New Era for Heritage Hospitality

The signing took place in Riyadh on September 29 during the Cultural Investment Conference 2025, with key representatives from CORE Life and the Ministry of Culture in attendance. The partnership focuses on a shared goal: bringing Saudi Arabia’s cultural landmarks to life through thoughtful, authentic experiences.
Representing CORE Life were Managing Director Eng. Mohammed Nabil Hefni, CEO of Hospitality Thomas Shawn, and Sales & Marketing Director Ammar Helal, each reaffirming the brand’s mission to bring in tradition and innovation in ways that serve both visitors and local communities.
Preserving the Past, Creating the Future

“These historic hotels stand as living symbols of our culture and identity,” said Eng. Hefni. “Through this partnership with the Ministry of Culture, we are honored to bring new life to Historic Jeddah, blending tradition with refined hospitality to create experiences that celebrate the soul of Saudi Arabia.”
That balance between preservation and progress sits at the heart of CORE Life’s philosophy. By operating these unique heritage hotels, the brand aims to keep the stories of old Jeddah alive, stories told through every wooden door, coral wall, and narrow alleyway that make Al-Balad so distinctive.
Three Historic Homes, Three Distinct Experiences

The three properties, Beit Al-Rayees, Beit Jokhdar, and Beit Kedwan, are all former family homes being transformed into boutique hotels under CORE Life’s management. Each will offer guests a personalized stay rooted in Hijazi architecture, local craftsmanship, and traditional hospitality.
Visitors can expect more than just accommodation. The hotels will feature curated heritage tours, cultural workshops, and authentic dining experiences that reflect Jeddah’s true and creative identity. In doing so, CORE Life continues its mission to create destinations that feel personal, purposeful, and deeply connected to place.
Supporting Vision 2030 Through Culture and Tourism
This collaboration directly supports Saudi Vision 2030’s focus on cultural tourism and the revitalization of heritage sites. Historic Jeddah, long regarded as a symbol of the Kingdom’s trading and architectural history, is being carefully restored and reimagined for new visitors and future generations.
With projects like this, CORE Life is helping position Saudi Arabia as a leading destination for travelers seeking meaningful cultural experiences. More importantly, it’s ensuring that the legacy of Al-Balad’s founding families remains an active part of the city’s evolving identity.
Blending Heritage With Heart
Through this partnership, CORE Life and the Ministry of Culture aim to honor the people, the history and stories that give meaning to Saudi heritage. Through its thoughtful approach to hospitality, CORE Life is setting a new standard for how the past and present can coexist beautifully, turning every stay into a celebration of Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural spirit.
