The destination is hosting its first-ever “The SUMMYT Showdown” Climbing Competition, bringing together Abu Dhabi’s growing climbing community for a day packed with action, skill, and plenty of excitement. With professional judges, technical routes, and a setting unlike any other, this event is set to raise the bar for indoor climbing in the region.

Known as the region’s ultimate destination for climbing and indoor adventure, CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi is already on the map for thrill-seekers thanks to its record-breaking walls. The venue is home to the tallest indoor climbing wall in the region, making it the perfect place for both first-time climbers and seasoned athletes to push their limits. Hosting a competition of this scale not only highlights the venue’s world-class facilities but also shines a spotlight on Abu Dhabi’s growing passion for the sport.
The Competition Format
The SUMMYT Showdown is a top-rope climbing event, starting with 30 technical routes on the 22-meter Advance Wall during the qualifiers. Climbers will need endurance, technique, and focus to make it through. From there, the top five male and female participants will advance to the finals, taking on two brand-new routes designed especially for the event on the famous 20-meter Summit Wall.
It’s a test of both mental and physical strength, and the climbers who make it through will truly earn their spot at the top.
A Full Day of Action
The day kicks off at 11:00 am with the first group of qualifiers, followed by the second group at 2:00 pm. The finalists will take the stage at 6:00 pm, with the winners crowned at an awards ceremony later that evening at 8:30 pm. Every registered participant will also receive a CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi-branded kit, adding a nice touch to the competitive experience.
Admission is AED 200, payable on-site, and with spaces limited, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Even if you’re not planning to compete, there’s still plenty to enjoy. Spectators are encouraged to come along, cheer on the participants, and get a front-row view of the action.
