The Asian Winter Games 2029 will no longer be taking over Trojena.

Asian Winter Games 2029
The 2029 Asian Winter Games, officially titled the 10th Asian Winter Games and widely referred to as Neom 2029, are a major pan-Asian winter multi-sport event planned to be hosted in Neom, Saudi Arabia.
Neom was selected as the host city during the 41st Olympic Council of Asia General Assembly held on 4 October 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The event marks several historic firsts: it will be the first Asian Winter Games staged in Saudi Arabia, the first in the Arabian Peninsula, and the first winter sports event ever hosted by an Arabic-speaking country.
Asian Winter Games 2029 postponed
While the Games were initially scheduled for 2029, the Olympic Council of Asia announced on Saturday, January 24 2026 that the event would be postponed to a later date, to be confirmed in due course.

Instead of one mega event, Saudi Arabia is switching things up by rolling out a series of standalone winter sports championships, keeping the momentum going while growing the scene. The goal? Spark interest, get more people involved, and build a solid pipeline of winter sports talent across the Kingdom and the wider region. It also buys valuable time to prep for future competitions, with stronger Saudi and West Asian representation on the ice and slopes. All of it reflects a closely aligned partnership and a shared vision to level up winter sports across Asia.
