Abdulaziz Altayar is a Saudi 17-year-old F4 driver. His journey into racing began at the age of 10 and he’s been racing since.
Abdulaziz was quick to develop a passion for motorsports, honing his skills and mental strength through karting. Over the past seven years, he has transitioned from karting to F4 racing, a move that has intensified his training and practice for the sport.

He drew inspiration from local rally drivers like Mamdouh Khayyat and Yazeed AlRajhi, as well as GT3 and Porsche racers Saud M Alsaud and Dania Akeel, who motivated him to perform and achieve his best. Abdulaziz’s journey from karting to F4 racing taught him all the skills and strategies he needed to succeed in his career, fueling his ambition to advance to F3 and ultimately compete in F1. Abdulaziz talks us through his favorite summer experiences in Jeddah.

Where do you usually practice karting during the summer, and what makes that location specifically special for you?
I usually train at the JCC Karting circuit. It’s a fantastic facility with perfect grip and brand new cars that perform amazingly. The track layout and space are perfect for developing skills and having fun with friends.
Morning or evening training sessions?
Definitely morning sessions. I actually have a thing I stick to where I race the sun. I’ve tested myself and the mornings are when I’m at my peak energy, so I try to get my exercise done before the sun comes up.
Beyond karting, what’s your favorite summer activity to take on in Jeddah, and why?
Summers here are quite hot, so my favorite summer activity to take on would be going to the beach and jumping into the water – swimming and snorkeling are my go-to. Besides that, I enjoy biking, usually by Jeddah’s corniche, and I recently got into Padel with alongside my brother, and we’re quite competitive.
What advice would you give young racers looking to explore karting as a summer activity?
My main advice is to stay dedicated, commit fully, and always give your best effort. Keep practicing and training to improve, even if you don’t win right away. We’re all working together to build a strong future for motorsports in Saudi, so start now and give it your best shot!
