Aseer Season 2025 began with a delicious food festival. The festival aims to celebrate southern Saudi culture through soul food and has packed Abha’s Al-Muftaha District to the brim.
Joining the Season’s festivities is the Al-Masqi heritage village which is all about reviving culture and heritage with a contemporary touch that connects the present to the past.
The event began on Saturday, August 9 and have brought a range of activities to one of the oldest villages in the Kingdom (yes, really).
So, if you are looking to enjoy some outdoor fun without the suffocating heat, the airy heritage village is the place to be.

Located south of Abha, Al-Masqi is one of southern Saudi Arabia’s oldest villages, dating back over 2,000 years. Spanning 78,500 square meters and home to around 171 heritage buildings, it’s believed to be among the “visible villages” referenced in the Holy Qur’an in Surat Sheba.

The village lies a brief 33-kilometer drive south of Abha on the Tamniya-Abha road.

No tickets are required to enter the heritage village or experience the activities. Just a full tank of fuel, some snacks for the drive, and an awesome Spotify playlist.
