Rising dramatically from the plains just northwest of Riyadh, the Tuwaiq cliffs – better known as the Edge of the World– deliver exactly what the name promises: endless, unobstructed desert views that make you feel like you’re standing at the edge of the planet. Come for the hiking and golden-hour photo ops, stay after dark for some of the clearest stargazing in the region.

How to get there: A 4WD vehicle is essential. From Riyadh, head northwest toward Sadus, and follow signs for Jebel Fihrayn.

Once an important stop for pilgrims crossing the Najd, Ushaiqer is now a peaceful window into Saudi Arabia’s architectural and cultural heritage.
