OSN+, the exclusive home for HBO content in the MENA region, has launched HBO’s ‘Raise Your Banners’ campaign in the Middle East. The campaign kicked off today at the iconic landmark of Elephant Rock in AlUla to celebrate the upcoming second season of one of the most-anticipated TV series of the year, House of the Dragon.
The ‘Raise Your Banners’ campaign features stunning digital transformations of famous landmarks around the world, and the spectacular Elephant Rock in AlUla is among them. This grand display marks the beginning of an exciting buildup to House of the Dragon Season 2, an eight-episode HBO Original drama series that will be available exclusively on OSN+ and OSNtv across the MENA region starting June 17, 2024.
A dramatic digital stunt video shows Elephant Rock adorned with a roll-down banner pledging allegiance to #TeamGreen. This symbolizes the competing houses at the heart of this season’s House of the Dragon. This eye-catching visual is just one of many planned to generate excitement for the new season.
The story, known as the Dance of the Dragons, officially began in the Season 1 finale and continues with intense rivalries such as Daemon versus Aemond, Erryk versus Arryk, and Aegon versus Aegon. The Seven Kingdoms are torn apart by the struggle for the Iron Throne, with Queen Rhaenyra and Aegon II each vying for the crown. Every noble house must choose sides in this epic battle.
Queen Alicent Hightower, played by Olivia Cooke, leads Team Green. She is King Viserys’s widow and Rhaenyra’s childhood friend. Team Black is led by Queen Rhaenyra, portrayed by Emma D’Arcy, the eldest child and chosen successor of King Viserys. Rhaenyra, denied the Iron Throne by the Greens, is determined to reclaim her birthright by Fire and Blood.
House of the Dragon, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen and the brutal civil war that nearly tore it apart. Based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” the series promises to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative and breathtaking visuals.
AlUla, located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, is an oasis city renowned for its diverse natural landscape, including mountains, desert, and unique geological rock formations. It also boasts significant heritage sites, such as Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. This combination makes AlUla an ideal destination for filming and tourism.
Catch House of the Dragon Season 2 exclusively on OSN+ starting June 17, 2024.
