AlUla Moments has revealed the upcoming edition of Winter at Tantora, set to run until January 27, 2024. This festival, now in its fifth edition, promises an extensive showcase of AlUla’s best offerings in culture, art, and music.
The festival is designed to cater to a diverse audience—whether culture enthusiasts, entertainment lovers, or adventure seekers. Across a span of six weeks, attendees can expect a variety of events and activities aligned with six themed weekends. These events will celebrate music, art, sports, fashion, and cultural festivities against the stunning backdrop of AlUla’s landscapes.
Rami AlMoallim, Vice President of Destination Management and Marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), expressed his enthusiasm for this edition: “This Winter at Tantora promises multiple experiences catering to many different interests. We’re specially recognizing the Year of Arabic Poetry through dedicated activities.”
As of December 21, AlUla will transform into a vibrant winter destination. Among the scheduled events, the musical show featuring Jamil and Bouthayna at Maraya on December 22 will present Saudi singer Zeina Emad in an exclusive performance. This performance, inspired by AlUla and written by the well known Saudi poet Fahad AlMusaed, commemorates the historic love story of Jamil and Bouthayna that took place before in AlUla.
“Word of AlUla,” another immersive experience, will celebrate the richness of Arabic language and culture. Running until January 21, it will offer workshops, exhibitions, talks, and live performances—providing visitors insights into the influence of Arabic on art, literature, music, and society.
The festival will also host the Poets Parade on December 21st and 22nd, a collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Culture marking the 2023 Year of Arabic Poetry. This vibrant showcase aims to bring the legacies of 14 star poets to life through engaging performances that make poetry ideal to all ages.
Additionally, various events like the Tantora Celebration, Shorfat AlJaddidah, Hegra Candlelit Classics concert, and Swiss Orchestra Concert are set to take place, offering visitors a diverse and interactive experience throughout Winter at Tantora.
