Rami Almoallim, Vice President of Destination Management and Marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) said: “AlUla Desert Blaze is a one-of-its-kind transformative experience and we are delighted to be able to bring this marquee event back for a second time. Last year’s inaugural race exemplified AlUla’s adventurous spirit and commitment to sporting excellence, while also showcasing the diversity and beauty of the county’s landscapes.
“This year, we hope to take participants once again on a daring journey through time and terrain, offering a unique opportunity to connect deeply with the environment, seek out a sense of revitalisation and renewal, and contribute to the legacy of one of the world’s most ancient and fascinating destinations. AlUla Desert Blaze calls on challengers worldwide to prove their mettle as they combat the tough conditions and vie for the title of champion.”
Runners of all fitness levels are gearing up for AlUla Desert Blaze, with race distances of 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km. Meanwhile, those brave enough to tackle the challenging 42km trail will begin their journey from the stunning Ashar Valley at Maraya, the world’s largest mirrored concert hall.
AlUla Desert Blaze is a highlight in the year-round AlUla Moments calendar, celebrating the city’s unique landscape, from sandstone cliffs to lush oases.
