Spotify Declares the Top Moods of 2023 in Saudi Arabia

Are you ready to know what the Top Moods of 2023 so far are? Listeners in Saudi turn to older hits for motivation and tracks by women artists rank high as confidence boosters!


We’re three months into 2023, and Spotify is officially declaring the top moods and listening trends of the year for Saudi Arabia. According to user-generated playlists and listening, two leading “moods” are setting the tone for the year so far – Motivation, and Confidence.

Here are the top tracks added to user-generated playlists on Spotify for each mood included:
Motivation – Older songs keep energy levels up:Unstoppable” by Sia, “Till I Collapse” by Eminem and Nate Dogg, “Lose Yourself – From “8 Mile” “Soundtrack” by Eminem, “Believer” by Imagine Dragons and “I’m Good (Blue)” by Bebe Rexha and David Guetta

Confidence – Girl power empowers: “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus, “Confident” by Demi Lovato, “Maneater” by Nelly Furtado, “Escapism” by 070 Shake and RAYE and “Woman” by Doja Cat

But that’s not all – with feel-good moods taking over 2023 for listeners, big collaborative energy is the name of the game for artists this year. The region is witnessing an unprecedented surge of artists from different countries teaming up to produce captivating tracks with cross-border influences.

WithDOUBLEZUKSH, Egyptian rapper Marwan Moussa collaborated with Moroccan rapper Stormy, making waves in France, the United States, and Germany. With a touch of the Zen9aoui genre, Algerian artist Didine Canon 16 and Mohamed Ramadan collaborated on “Nassaba” which has gained popularity outside of the Arab world in countries such as Sweden, Germany, and France. UAE-based rapper Freek recently joined forces with Tunisian rapper A.L.A on “Halloween”.

Globally, The Weeknd is having a major moment, becoming the first artist in Spotify history to reach 100 Million monthly listeners and niche regional genres like Palestinian Hip-Hop and Bronx Drills are breaking out around the globe.
