A Little Somethin’ Somethin’

A Little Somethin’ Somethin’

Three restaurants and cafes that have gone a little further to distinguish themselves.

With so many restaurants competing for our attention, we decided to single out ones that have a little somethin’ extra.

Acoustic

The all-women café aims to give its costumer a comfort she can’t find anywhere else. The café was founded as the owner’s love letter to coffee. She came up with the idea behind this rustic cozy café because owning a coffee house wasn’t enough. She wanted to be able to actually make the coffee herself. Everything from the carefully selected cups to the machines and contraptions that deliver the beans spoke to level of research done to bring you the perfect cup of coffee.

Alāan

Alāan gallery and restaurant opened with its sights set on becoming Riyadh’s local art hub. With the restaurant serving as the social center, Alāan wanted to create a space for artists and art enthusiasts
to kick back, relax and hang out. International cuisine served with a contemporary twist proves Alāan true to its name – which translates to
now. Visitors can also grab a book from their library and a glass of their famous Berry Pink Lemonade.

DR Recommends: Meat lovers should try their Australian Beef Tenderloin. For your sweet tooth, try their famous Pain Perdu dessert.

We feel it’s of significance to note that Acoustic, Kanakah and Alāan are all brainchildren of women. Queue in the song “Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves” by Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin.
